Multimedia University (MMU)

Multimedia University (MMU) is a private university with its main campus located in Cyberjaya, Selangor, Malaysia. It has over 22,000 students and located just about 500 meters from an upcoming mixed development project, Edusphere @ Cyberjaya.

History of Multimedia University (MMU)

The idea of establishing an education institution started when Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) established The Institute of Telecommunication and Information Technology (ITTM) in Taiping, Perak in 1994. Then, TM was given the distinction by the Ministry of Education to set up the first private university in Malaysia.

On 1st December 1996, Universiti Telekom (Unitele) was eastablished. TM invited Prof Datuk Dr Ghauth Jasmon to lead UTSB and he has eventually led the university as its President for 11 years.
